Background: Facilitator Technologies™ has developed a specific door security device that can be easily deployed, and removed from operation by occupants, if need be, in an effort to control the door that separates them from danger into a safe space.

Following FDNY’s focus to embrace new technology for enhanced occupant safety & ready access for responders, Occupant Preserver™ was installed in four sperate buildings within the training division to better introduce the fire serve to the technology.

Additionally, as part of its mission, the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation (NFFF) works to reduce preventable firefighter death and injury—and to keep the public safe— through NFFF’s sixteen Firefighter Life Safety Initiatives. NFFF helps to raise awareness about various technologies that would be beneficial in keeping first responders safer during some mass shooting incidents.
